I am constantly thankful for the ability to run a home daycare. I am thankful everyday that the worst thing that can happen during my workday is the possibility of being thrown up on! No car crashes or third world disasters. My life is surrounded by the joy of children and nothing compares to that.
Here are some photos showcasing what we have been up to so far this month. Here are some photos to enjoy from September so far. As you can tell we are always busy having fun and making the most of this beautiful weather. Healthy and delicious meals are also a top priority.
Honoring our everyday HeroesNext week we as adults will remember 9/11. A day that forever changed so many lives. This topic however is not so appropriate for 2 and 3 year olds. Next week at Little Lambs we will be focussing on "Every Day Heroes". Who they are, what they do and why they are important. Each of the children will colour a colouring page which I have shown. Then we will paste them to Bristol boards and give them to our local police and fire stations as Thank you cards. Please take a moment on September 11th to remember all the fallen soldiers, police officers, firefighters and service men and women who lost their lives on that horrific day and the years to follow in the war on Terrorism. For March Break I have decided on a "Monsters University" theme. We will be having a scavenger hunt where the kids will be searching for items to make a Mike or Sully themed mask. I'm also hoping to put some sort of a "scare games" together for them. Just working on a few ideas. For the little ones I will be making "monstrously" non toxic play dough. For the older kids lots of fun is sure to be had when they use modeling clay to create their very own monster keepsake. Super fun Mike and Sully Oreo pops (pictured above) recipe and idea taken from ttp://www.momendeavors.com/2013/06/mike-sulley-monsters-oreo-pops.html is something I am really excited to try. There may also be some singing and dancing along the way too.....A day is truly never complete without it. Pictures and more activities to come.... Thanks so much reading! sincerely, Kristina How much Fun is this? Will need to try at least a few of these

First you draw a picture with white crayon onto a blank piece of paper. Then water down some paint and allow toddlers to freely paint across the page. They are intrigued and amazed when a picture "magically" appears. Idea inspired by the one and only Pinterest. |
