September brought a whole new kind of fun with the older kids going back to school. Our mornings and afternoons have added excitement when we go for a wagon ride back and forth to school. This is our wagon:
Normally Nicholas insists on being pushed in his orange car. This makes us into quite the train of little ones.
September also brought very odd weather. Very chilly in the morning but hot in the afternoon. Layering clothes or bringing a change of clothes became necessary. As I'm sure it will be in October. Handy clothing to have would include: slush pants, hats and thin mittens (for extra chilly mornings), sweaters, thin coats and appropriate outdoor footwear. If the ground is wet than it may not be the best idea to wear cotton sneakers....
My rules for going outside are the same as what they follow in schools. As long as it is not too hot, to cold or currently raining than we go outside twice a day. This is where bringing appropriate outdoor clothing becomes very important. We don't want little ones having wet feet or getting too cold or hot, or unfortunately having to stay inside because someone didn't bring appropriate outdoor clothing.
Cold and flu season is also upon us. Even though most of my daycare kids are under 2 I have begun to get them into the habit of washing their hands after coming inside and before/after lunch. They find this part of the day particularly amusing as it parallels water play.
Here are some September photos from Little Lambs.

I am looking forward to what October has to bring. Leaves falling, temperature dropping, Thanksgiving and of course Halloween!
